The time to prepare is BEFORE something happens obviously. However most people as I have witnessed in my own neighborhood recently with a power outage, people just up and get into their cars and leave. You can't do that if everything goes down. I would prefer to be the one that is prepared ahead of time....

In May 2015 a severe thunderstorm went through our area here in the Midwest. Nothing odd about storms they happen often and everywhere. But, this storm brought down a large maple tree. The tree fell on our power line to the house. My family endured four very long days without power. What an inconvenience!! But, it will never happen to us again. Thanks to our Patriot Power Generator my family has the peace of mine knowing that we can still keep the lights on, charge our devices, cook, or power the freezer.

I haven't had the need to fully utilize this generator, but I have tested it on my refrigerator with excellent results. I ran the refrigerator for several hours to measure the battery drain with good results. I also tested the solar panels to recharge the device and all worked well.

I was able to fully charge it and see how the solar panels are connected to it - didn't take a rocket scientist. I see where other reviews suggest I should be able to run my refrigerator on it so that gives me some peace of mind.

I decided to invest in this generator after watching the video online. It made sense to be prepared instead of waiting for a disaster to hit. My daughter and I were living in Florida when Charlie hit and left without electricity for a week. I moved to Tennessee shortly after that stating, "I would never go thru that again". Guess what...Tennessee also gets storms from time to time which have left us in the dark. We are living in scary times and believe we need to have a plan of action rather than regret! I also ordered a year supply of food and the water filter...........I feel great knowing I took these steps to protect my family!
